100 MSMEs Owned by People with Disabilities Receive ‘Deliver Possibilities’ Training

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — An entrepreneurship training program entitled “Deliver Possibilities” was held specifically for 100 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) owned by disabled groups, to provide insight into the world of entrepreneurship and MSMEs and their challenges.
The training lasted for six days from 30 October to 4 November 2023, followed by a judging session to determine the top 10 on 13-14 November 2023. In the training, there were seven topics provided, namely product marketing, technology adoption, content and virtual design, digital advertising, marketing feature optimization, basic logistics and cash management.
In a statement received on Monday (20/11/2023), the program is the result of collaboration between the Berdaya Menembus Batas Foundation and J&T Express, a logistics company, and is supported by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (Kemenkop UKM).
Each participant undergoes an exam for each material that has been presented, and is also tasked with preparing a business plan proposal which will be assessed by a panel of judges.
In the first judging session, the 20 participants with the highest test scores were further tested with in-depth questions from the judges regarding their business proposals. On the second day of judging, the top 10 were selected who presented their business plans.
The second judging session was to determine the ranking, where a total prize of IDR 150 million in the form of procurement of goods was awarded as a step to support MSMEs. This prize was then given to the 10 best participants to help develop and sustain their business.
“Full support from J&T Express and the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises really helped us in organizing this program. We hope that this program will make a real contribution to participants in advancing their business in the world of entrepreneurship,” said Penetrating Boundaries Project Manager Isaiah Rapha.
J&T Express Brand Manager Herline Septia said the company appreciates every SME with disabilities who have participated in the Deliver Possibilities program. The company believes that each SME has its own advantages so that they successfully undergo the selection process up to this final point.
“The results of this program are also proof that Indonesian disabled SMEs are empowered,” said Herline.
One of the participants in the top 3, Sandy Anderson, expressed his appreciation for this program because it cares for people with disabilities and provides motivation.
“Because what we need is not pity but real support,” said Sandy.
