Reminding that traffic increases by 60-70 percent during Eid holidays, especially on departure and return dates, Uraloğlu said, “We expect 30 to 35 million of our citizens to travel since the Eid al-Fitr holiday lasts 9 days. Our citizens need to be much more careful on roads that will be crowded. “We expect them to approach this issue with particular sensitivity in order not to turn the holiday enthusiasm into pain,” he said.

Uraloğlu said, “Against possible negativities, uninterrupted service will be provided in 18 Regional Directorates, 122 Branch Chiefs, 15 Tunnel Maintenance Operations Chiefs, 25 Highway Maintenance Operations Chiefs and 16 Build-Operate-Transfer Maintenance Operations Chiefs spread throughout the country. Stating that additional services have been added on high-speed train lines as well as suburban lines in railways, Uraloğlu said that in airlines, all necessary precautions have been taken to avoid any negative situation at all airports, especially Istanbul Airport.

Underlining that all necessary preparations have been made by the State Airports Authority (DHMİ) for a comfortable and safe air transportation during the Ramadan Feast, Uraloğlu said, “All relevant units of DHMİ will provide service on a 24-hour basis during the Eid. We have taken all necessary precautions to avoid any problems arising from congestion at all airports around the country, especially Istanbul Airport. “Our staff at the airports will be in coordination with all units to ensure comfortable and safe transportation for our citizens,” he said.

Strict control on bus prices

Uraloğlu stated that precautions were taken to prevent citizens from having problems finding bus tickets due to the passenger density that may occur during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Stating that for this purpose, they gave permission to bus companies to use the buses used in tourism transportation, Uraloğlu said, “We have increased the inspections in passenger transportation by our General Directorate of Transport Services Regulation so that our citizens do not face any problems in finding bus tickets during the Ramadan Feast holiday and do not suffer from situations such as exorbitant prices.” . Administrative fines will be imposed on companies that engage in pirated transportation, operate without a travel permit, pick up or drop off passengers in unauthorized locations, and issue bus tickets at exorbitant prices. “In addition, due to the significant increase in the number of passengers traveling by road during the holiday periods, we requested that bus companies meet the demands by adding additional trips,” he said.
