37 officials in Ho Chi Minh City violated alcohol concentration, including police

“In general, the proportion of officers, civil servants, contract employees and armed forces who violate alcohol concentration is small, only 37 people out of a total of 128,000 people. Recently, there have been no cases of officers violating alcohol levels,” Mr. Ha said.

Mr. Ha further informed that in 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Police will detect and handle more than 128,000 cases of driving cars and motorbikes with alcohol violations.
Because the fines for these violations are relatively high, sometimes higher than the value of the violating vehicle and there is an additional penalty of revocation of the driver’s license, many violators have abandoned their vehicles, increasing the number of vehicles. Vehicles are temporarily detained in warehouses and yards. Many traffic police units have to take advantage of the space at their headquarters to temporarily detain violating vehicles. According to statistics, Ho Chi Minh City still lacks more than 10,000 m2 of warehouses and yards to temporarily detain vehicles for administrative violations.
To ensure fire safety for warehouses and temporary storage yards for evidence and means of administrative violations, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Board of Directors has directed units to implement many solutions such as: Organizing installation and maintaining fire protection systems; Periodically check and fully charge fire extinguishers; Develop fire prevention and fighting plans at each warehouse; Assign weekly responsibilities to officers and soldiers managing warehouses and yards; Police units classify vehicles into groups to organize preservation; Speed up the processing of material evidence and means of administrative violations.
