61 Gaza patients were brought to Turkey for treatment

61 patients and 49 more companions, who were transferred to Egypt from Gaza, where Israeli attacks continue, were brought to Turkey for treatment by a plane belonging to the Ministry of National Defense. Gazan patients were welcomed by Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca. Stating that they are considering establishing a field hospital in the safe zone in Gaza, Minister Koca stated that 150 people, including 88 patients, were brought.

The A400M plane belonging to the Ministry of National Defense, which took off from Egypt’s El Arish Airport, landed at Etimesgut Military Airport at 15.10 with 61 patients, 49 companions and 10 medical personnel.

Last Thursday, 27 patients and 13 companions from Gaza were brought to Turkey by planes belonging to the Presidency and the Ministry of National Defense, and the patients were treated at Bilkent City Hospital.

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca made statements during the welcome.

Minister Koca stated that he had a telephone conversation with his Israeli and Egyptian counterparts and said, “In the meeting with both of them, we discussed the activities of the health coordination team established between Turkey, Israel and Egypt and the future planned work.” said.

Minister Koca also stated that they wanted to establish a field hospital in the safe zone in Gaza and announced that a total of 150 people, including 88 patients, were evacuated.

Minister Koca’s statements are as follows:

As a result of the work of the health coordination team we formed between Turkey, Israel and Egypt, we brought 27 patients and 13 attendants to our country. Treatment of the first group of patients continues. Today, we enabled the arrival of 61 patients and 49 companions, most of whom have cancer, to our country. I would like to thank internal and external stakeholders. The treatments of our guests from Gaza will be carried out in Ankara Bilkent and Etlik City Hospitals.

The days we live in are the most painful days in history. Today, I had a meeting with the Israeli Minister of Health at noon. Last night, I held it with the Egyptian Minister of Health. During the meeting with both of them, we discussed the activities of the health coordination team established between Turkey, Israel and Egypt and the future planned work. I stated that we are making intense efforts to bring especially babies and children to our country for treatment, that we are planning a new evacuation within 1-2 days, and that we would be pleased with close coordination on this issue.
