Because the 63-year-old was behaving very anxiously, looking around in all directions, the policemen who were patrolling the area decided to ask him about the reason for his nervousness.
But the 63-year-old was not talkative. He tried to get away and say goodbye to the officers as quickly as possible. However, they did not give up. When they looked into the bag held tightly by the ID man, they were speechless. Inside they found a lamp that had recently been part of the city lantern. In addition, the man had pliers and pliers in his bag, which he used to remove the lighting from the pole.
The man was taken to the police station, where he was charged with theft. During interrogation, he admitted to the alleged act. A representative of the Municipal Roads Authority in Zamość estimated the value of the stolen lamp at over PLN 1,600. Theft of another person’s movable property is punishable by imprisonment for up to 5 years.
