Arda Turan and Emre Belözoğlu in court: We lost all our savings

Banker Seçil Erzan, who was alleged to have defrauded 18 people, including famous names of the football world such as Fatih Terim, Arda Turan, Emre Belözoğlu, Fernando Muslera, appeared before the judge for the first time. According to the news on NTV, the fraud case started at the Istanbul 14th High Criminal Court. The defendant, a former manager of a bank, “When I was making money, I was Seçil, when I couldn’t make money, I became a fraudster” said.

300 thousand dollars from Fatih Terim…

Erzan claimed that his house had been raided and threatened with a gun before. In his defense, the defendant also said that he received 300 thousand dollars from Fatih Terim in 2020.

Arda Turan, who spoke in court, said that Seçil Erzan called him frequently and tried to persuade him to deposit his money in a fund. Arda Turan stated that he gave away 13 million 900 thousand dollars but lost all his savings. Emre Belözoğlu and Muslera also made similar accusations, explaining that they could not receive the money promised to them.

A prison sentence of 66 to 216 years is requested

Within the scope of the case, Erzan and 6 defendants are accused of defrauding 29 victims of approximately 44 million dollars. A prison sentence of 66 to 216 years is requested for Erzan.

A decision of non-prosecution had previously been taken regarding the bank.
