Attending United Village Gathering, Gibran Ready to be Reprimanded by Bawaslu

SOLO, BALIPOST.com – After attending the United Village Gathering event in Jakarta, Sunday (19/11), Candidate for Vice President from the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Gibran Rakabuming Raka was ready to receive a warning from the General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu).

When confirmed in Solo, Central Java, Tuesday, the Mayor of Surakarta said he only came as an invitation. “And I came just when it was about to finish,” he said, quoted by the Antara news agency, Tuesday (21/11).

However, he will accept a warning from Bawaslu after attending the event. “Later, if there is a warning, we will accept the warning. “What is clear is that we came as an invitation,” he said.

Previously, Bawaslu Chairman Rahmat Bagja would summon the event committee to declare support for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair which was attended by thousands of village officials at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno Complex, Jakarta, Sunday (19/11). The summons is to assess whether there was a violation or not in the event.

United Village National Coordinator Muhammad Asri Annas said, the United Village National Gathering is an annual routine activity and this year was attended by thousands of village heads, village consultative bodies and village officials.

“We present Mas Gibran Rakabuming Raka as an inspirational young figure. We also actually invited Mr Prabowo. “We are also actually communicating with all the presidential candidates,” he said.

He hopes that the meeting can accommodate the aspirations of the village apparatus and community. “There are several important points that we hope can be accommodated in the future. First is village governance reform, then second, village funds of IDR 5 billion are affirmative, then evaluation of village assistants. “The third is to improve the welfare of village officials, BPD and all organizational instruments that support the government,” he said.
