DENPASAR, – The Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the dismissal of Arya Wedakarna (AWK) has not been received by the Bali Regional Representative Council (DPD) Office. Quoted from the Atara News Agency, Head of the DPD RI Bali Office, Putu Rio, said the secretariat had not received the letter.

He asked to wait until the center read it directly through the court. “So I was also called by the center (DPD RI), actually there has been no official announcement from the center regarding the decision, because later there will be a plenary session to read the decision,” he said, Thursday (29/2).

He estimates that the trial will take place in early March, but there is no definite schedule yet. “Certainly it was officially conveyed (in the plenary session),” continued Putu Rio.

It was previously known that on Friday (2/2) the BK DPD RI announced the dismissal of Arya Wedakarna who was deemed to have violated the oath or promise of office and the code of ethics and/or regulations of the DPD RI as regulated in the MD3 Law.

He was then given a heavy sanction in the form of permanent dismissal, this was decided after complying with Article 48 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of DPD RI Regulation Number 1 of 2021.

Then the DPD RI Secretariat in Bali explained that the dismissal would continue if the BK DPD RI decision was processed until a Presidential Decree (Keppres) was issued.

Now the Presidential Decree has appeared and is circulating with an excerpt from Presidential Decree Number 35/P of 2024 concerning the inauguration of the interim dismissal of DPD and MPR members for the 2019-2024 term of office.

Its contents formalized the dismissal of Dr. Shri IGN Arya Wedakarna MWS, SE (M.TRU)., M.Si as a member of the DPD from the Bali electoral district as a member of the MPR for the 2019-2024 term, with President Jokowi’s signature in Jakarta, 22 February 2024.

“Yes, I also know that there is a Presidential Decree, but I haven’t officially received it, so I didn’t provide information, it would overlap if I gave it,” said Rio.

Apart from the Presidential Decree which has not yet been officially released, Rio said that the DPD RI notification letter to the Indonesian KPU asking to postpone the PAW AWK until the inkrah decision had not arrived.

Therefore, from his observations up to now, Arya Wedakarna is still working at the Bali DPD RI Office, his belongings with the team are still neatly arranged but he is not yet working fully because it is still a series of Galungan and Kuningan holidays. (kmb/balipost)
