Bawaslu Investigates Alleged Support of the Acting Regent of Sorong for One of the Candidate Candidates

JAKARTA, BALIPOST.com – The alleged support of the Acting Regent of Sorong Yan Piet Mosso for the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair is being examined by the Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Rahmat Bagja.

“Bawaslu is checking whether the findings are true or not. We are coordinating with Bawaslu friends in Sorong, Papua. “We are waiting for the report from Sorong Bawaslu friends,” said Bagja after a meeting with Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko at the Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, quoted from the Antara news agency, Monday (20/11).

Bagja said that acting regional heads are part of the state civil apparatus (ASN) so they are bound by the rules of the ASN Law. “ASN must be neutral. “ASN may not demonstrate or facilitate certain activities or certain programs for certain election participants, either detrimental or beneficial,” he said.

He revealed that to date there have been two reports regarding pj. regional head, namely Acting. Regent of Sorong and acting regent in the West Nusa Tenggara region. “One was forwarded to KASN, 3 weeks or a month ago, it happened a long time ago, pj. “In Lombok, if I’m not mistaken, the regent is in the NTB area,” said Bagja.

The Chairman of Bawaslu RI said that basically Bawaslu was tasked with conveying whether there were any violations during the campaign period. We haven’t entered the campaign period yet.

“The execution is at the State Civil Service Commission and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform as well as the State Civil Service Agency. “We are only stating that this is an alleged violation, the case is like this, please follow up,” he explained. (Kmb/Balipost)
