Cemetery hyenas roam all over Poland. The terror of All Saints’ Day
On November 1, Poles will go to visit the graves of their loved ones in droves, but preparations for the holiday start even earlier. Unfortunately, freshly decorated graves are an opportunity for “cemetery hyenas” who are just waiting to steal expensive decorations.
Cemetery thieves hunt for loot all over Poland. There are frequent thefts in small towns and large cities. In Wroclaw, according to Radio Wrocław, the situation at the Osobowice Cemetery is particularly disturbing. Residents whose loved ones are buried there they face the disappearance of almost everything — from expensive decorations to candle inserts.
It’s no different in Świnoujście, as reported by Radio Szczecin. From the local cemeteries flowers, candles and even tools disappearand residents are now afraid to decorate graves.
— There was a situation when I bought such a beautiful bouquet for so much money. Unfortunately, someone just stole it from me. From now on, I don’t care that it has to be beautiful or expensive. Just to make it normal, one of the victims told local radio.
People warn each other. “How can that be?”
There are also many entries on social media from outraged Internet users who were affected by the theft of decorations from the graves of their loved ones.

Thieves are also on the prowl in Tczew, where at the cemetery at ul. Two large bouquets were stolen this month on Gdańsk. As the Facebook user confessed in her post, these were decorations to commemorate the 5th anniversary of her father’s death.
