Christmas 2023 in Europe – where is the cheapest place to go for the Christmas holidays — UNIAN

Very soon, the Christmas season will start in Europe, delighting local residents and tourists with bright fairs with festive decorations, garlands and aromatic hot drinks. However, a Christmas trip to Europe is often not the cheapest pleasure, especially on popular destinations.

The company Post Office Money compared 13 popular cities in Europe to determine the most budget-friendly Christmas destinations on the continent in the winter season of 2023/2024. As a result, the rating was topped by the capital of Latvia – Rigawrites The Sun.

So, according to the company’s report, two nights in Riga and direct flights there and back (flights from Great Britain were taken into account, but in general the picture is about the same for flights across Europe – ed.) cost an average of 350 euros for two people. In general, the report analyzes the prices for accommodation and travel (including the way to the airport from the city), as well as five essential items for the holiday, including a three-course meal, mulled wine and holiday pastries – all this will cost an average of 580 euros.

At the same time, quite unexpectedly, the Swedish capital was in second place Stockholmtraditionally considered a very expensive garden – about 640 euros for a weekend for two.

Next in the list are located Zagreb (Croatia), Prague (Czech Republic) and Tallinn (Estonia).

Well, for the cheapest mulled wine, tourists are offered to go to the Polish garden Krakow – four glasses of mulled wine here will cost about 10 euros.

At the same time, the authors of the report recognized the Austrian capital as the most expensive of the analyzed Christmas destinations Viennafollowed by the Danish capital Copenhagen – a two-night trip for two to these cities will cost more than 1 thousand euros on average.
