Crowd of devotees gathered in Devi temple on Durga Ashtami


Shahabad, (Owner)- Devotees throng Shrimad Devi Bhagwati Bala Sundari on the occasion of Durga Ashtami. Devotees started reaching the temple at 4 am on Wednesday. Even the devotees who came from far and wide stayed in the temple Dharamshala the night before and worshiped Mata Rani in the morning. Thousands of devotees thronged the temple premises throughout the day and long queues of devotees were seen for darshan. Pawan Garg, head of the temple committee, said that for the convenience of the devotees coming to the temple, sevadars were appointed at various places so that the devotees do not face any kind of trouble. The crowd of devotees was systematically controlled and there were concrete arrangements for the cleanliness system. Former councilors Nisha Bhargava and Lalit Bhargava offered prayers at the temple and performed Kanjak puja.
This is the history of the temple
The history of the Devi temple of Shahabad is that two holy bodies of Mata Rani had manifested themselves here. One Pindi is of Mother Saraswati and the other Pindi is of Mother Lakshmi. That’s why this temple is known as Historical Devi Temple and it is believed that the wishes of the devotees who visit here are fulfilled.
Fair started at Devi Mandir Ground
At the same time, along with Durga Ashtami, the fair started at Devi Mandir Ground. Various types of swings were installed in the fair. On the first day thousands of people thronged the fair and enjoyed the swings.
