Deputy Manpower in Parliament: 3 cases in which reconciliation is prohibited… and some violations are 3 times the price

Representative Ihab Mansour, Undersecretary of the Manpower Committee in the House of Representatives and Head of the Parliamentary Body of the Egyptian Democratic Party, commented on the House of Representatives’ approval during its plenary session on Monday of the amendments to the draft law on reconciliation of building violations submitted by the government.

He said during statements to the “Heliopolis” program with media personality Engy Anwar, broadcast on the “ETC” screen on Monday evening, that the amendments include approval to complete the work of concrete columns, walls and ceilings, for which reconciliation requests were accepted under the provisions of the previous law of 2019.

He pointed out that the law provides many facilitations to citizens by facilitating reconciliation procedures for some violations for which reconciliation is prohibited in advance, such as encroaching on planning lines, easement rights, exceeding height restrictions, and state-owned lands, according to a set of specific mechanisms and controls.

He pointed out that the law allows reconciliation of building violations according to aerial photography by the end of October 15, 2023, saying: “Everyone who has violated the building violation until this date and is close to the urban estate can reconcile until this date.”

He explained that the law prohibits reconciliation for three violations: (encroachment on antiquities and the Nile River, changing the use of garages, and violating construction safety requirements), adding: “Except for the three prohibited things; There is a possibility of reconciliation for any violations that do not meet the terms of reconciliation, in accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers, but at 3 times the price.”
