The day when Fu Bao, the ‘eternal baby panda’ loved by the entire nation, leaves for China. Heavy raindrops fell on Everland in Yongin. Despite the inclement weather, 6,000 Fubao fans who visited Everland saw Fubao off in tears.

According to News 1, on the morning of the 3rd, Everland held an event to see off Fu Bao, who was leaving for China. Even though it was raining, fans filled the front gate even before the 10 a.m. admission time. The send-off procession continued from the entrance of Panda World, where Fu Bao lived, to the rose garden in Everland.

Fu Bao left Panda World aboard a special vibration-free vehicle used to transport semiconductors. Although it was not possible to see Fubao in person in the vehicle, the words “Meeting you was a miracle. Thank you, Fubao” were written on the outside of the vehicle along with Fubao’s image.

Zookeeper Kang Cheol-won from ‘Fu Bao Installment’ and Song Young-gwan from ‘Song Bao’ started the send-off procession ahead of the vehicle. When the Panda World door opened and the vehicle carrying Fu Bao came out, Zookeeper Kang said, “Thank you for loving Fu Bao,” and calmly started to send him off.

The road from Panda World to the Rose Garden was filled with 6,000 citizens who gathered to see Fubao off. As the vehicle passed, fans continued to march behind it.

There were many fans who shed tears as they realized the end of their relationship with Fu Bao.

The fans’ cries got louder when Zookeeper Kang and Zookeeper Song said on behalf of Fubao in the rose garden before sending him off, saying, “I believe you can do well anywhere.”

Mr. Kim, in his 30s, shed tears after hearing Zookeeper Kang’s words. “I used to come to Everland 2-3 times a month to see Fu Bao,” he said. “There are (Fu Bao’s younger brothers) Rui Bao and Hui Bao, but this is the first time I’ve met him. “I don’t think I’ll ever forget Fu Bao.”

Meanwhile, major Chinese media outlets are showing great interest by broadcasting live online from Everland, where Fubao’s farewell ceremony is taking place, or reporting heavily on the process from Fubao’s birth to return.

China’s state-run CCTV conducted a live broadcast through its SNS account that day. A CCTV reporter visited Everland, where the Fubao farewell event was taking place, and showed great interest in the event by filming the visitors waiting for Fubao.

Despite the rainy weather, visitors wearing raincoats waiting for Fubao, Chinese Ambassador to Korea Xing Haiming attending Fubao’s farewell ceremony, and past videos of Fubao were broadcast. This live broadcast was broadcast at 9:35 a.m. As of 10:35 p.m. Korean time, more than 5.5 million people are watching at the same time. CCTV said in a live broadcast that “many people arrived from early morning to send off Fubao.”

A Korean student from Sichuan told CCTV, “In Sichuan, pandas are like friends that you can come across often, and I’m proud that Fu Bao is receiving a lot of love in Korea. I’ve never been to the Wolong Xuan Ping base where Fu Bao is sold, but in winter, I’m proud.” “It is said that it also snows, which Fubao likes.”
