The black-white club emphasized that the decisions taken by TFF were disproportionate to past examples and stated that the sense of trust was shaken and made the following statement:

“There has never been another period in Turkey where sports law has been so devalued, its standards have disappeared and trust in justice has disappeared.

Decisions must be taken quickly in contemporary sports law, based on the fact that the number of matches increases day by day and fixtures become more intense. Decisions should be determined according to accurate and universal standards. Unfortunately, our federation is unable to ensure trust with the decisions it makes on this issue.

The federation that penalized one of our athletes for 6 matches by changing the rules in one night by using the lip-reading method, and the federation that penalized one of our athletes for pushing away a fan who came onto the field to protect his friend, is the same federation that gave the known penalties after the eventful match that occupied the country’s agenda for 15 days.

Turkish football has had to pay the price of handling the Josef de Souza incident with general carelessness, in inextricable chaos, instead of examining it and establishing jurisprudence, taking into account the damage that the game may suffer in the future, and updating sports law according to the developing conditions.

Decisions taken late and disproportionately compared to the past have completely destroyed the confidence that justice can be established in the future. On behalf of Turkish football, we watch and note with concern the changes in the rules according to individuals and clubs.

Regards.”
