No Advent decorations yet? Still no idea what to do Christmas should give? Then the hobby artist market in the Horgauer Rothtalhalle (Schwedenweg 200) on Sunday, November 26, 2023 comes at just the right time.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., more than 50 exhibitors from almost all over Swabia will be offering very special gift and decoration ideas.

Whether hats, jewelry, socks or pictures, Advent wreaths, birdhouses or honey – the hobby artists have been extremely creative over the past few months and can show visitors in Horgau offer attractive goods.

New to the hobby artist market: felt slippers

“New this year is an exhibitor from Adelsried who makes felt slippers on site,” says market organizer Harald Engelmayr. He thinks it’s great that you can look over the artist’s shoulder while she’s making them.

Engelmayr is expecting a large number of visitors again this year, because the hobby artist market, which is taking place for the 22nd time this year, is now established. “Anyone who wants to exhibit can now register on our homepage throughout the year,” says Engelmayr.

The beginnings of the hobby artist market

Things were different in the early years. The initiator Christl Hörmann, who has since died, still personally looked after each and every exhibitor back then. A lot of things happened through personal contacts. But the end result was the same: the hobby artist market in Horgau was and is a magnet for visitors.

By the way: In the Rothtalhalle, visitors can expect not only individual hobby art, but also culinary offerings from the innkeepers of the sports restaurant. There is a white sausage breakfast in the morning, lunch at lunchtime and later you can think about purchasing one or two handmade products over a cup of coffee and a piece of home-made cake.
