Haryana Police’s crackdown operation continues to stop illegal liquor sale
Chandigarh, (Dharani)- As part of the campaign being run by the police department against illegal liquor, strictest action is being taken by arresting the khurdas selling illegal liquor on daily basis. Under this campaign, from November 11 to November 20, 444 FIRs were registered and 436 people were arrested.
Director General of Police Shatrujit Kapoor said that many teams of the police department are working actively, adopting the policy of zero tolerance, to catch Khurda who is selling illegal liquor in the state. He said that to stop the sale of illegal liquor, monitoring is being done by senior officials in the state so that prompt action can be taken and the accused can be caught immediately. Apart from this, the Police Headquarters also holds meetings with senior officers of the districts from time to time through video conferencing and takes action taken reports so that meaningful efforts can be made in this direction to crack down on those selling illegal liquor.
He said that the police department team has recovered 11368 country bottles, 1449 English bottles, 774 beer bottles, 2352 liters of liquor and 354 raw liquor. He called upon the contractors selling liquor and said that they should not fall prey to any kind of greed and sell illegal liquor at their outlets. The police department will take strict action against those who do this. The police department also appeals to the local people to immediately inform the police about the people making such illegal khurda and spurious liquor so that appropriate action can be taken in time. The name of the person giving information in this regard will also be kept secret.
