In Brovary, one of the employees of the Higher School of Physical Education was diagnosed with viral hepatitis A.

This is the first case of disease in the Kyiv region against the background of the spread of the disease in other regions of Ukraine. It was reported by the director of the Brovarsk district branch of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine Elena Levchenko November 20, writes the local publication “Tribune-Brovary”.

According to her, the employee of the institution most likely became infected through contact and household contact. The school was closed for quarantine, anti-epidemic measures are being carried out there.

84 people who came in contact with the patient fell into the risk group.

“The children will be under the supervision of doctors for 35 days from the moment the case of the disease is detected. Appropriate laboratory biochemical analyzes will be conducted,” Levchenko said.

To protect against the hepatitis A virus in household conditions, it is necessary to monitor the quality of drinking water, wash hands thoroughly, and handle food products.

Ukrainians can also be vaccinated, but it is not mandatory, said the Deputy Minister of Health, the country’s chief state health physician Igor Kuzyn.
