New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News)-Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday distributed more than one lakh appointment letters to newly appointed employees through video conference. He also laid the foundation stone of the first phase of the integrated complex ‘Karmayogi Bhawan’ here. This campus will promote collaboration and coordination between the various pillars of Mission Karmayogi. Addressing a gathering on this occasion, the Prime Minister said that appointment letters are being handed over to more than one lakh people. The Prime Minister congratulated the new appointees and their families. He said that the campaign to provide job opportunities to the youth is continuing at full speed in the government. Referring to the rise in bribery due to the long time taken between job notification and handing over of appointment letters, the Prime Minister said that the present government has completed the recruitment process within the stipulated time as well as made the entire process transparent. He said that this has provided equal opportunities to every youth to showcase their abilities. He said that today every youth believes that they can strengthen their employment status with hard work and skills. He said that the government is continuously making efforts to make the youth participants in the development of the nation. The government has provided employment to one and a half times more youth in the last 10 years compared to previous governments. He also mentioned about laying the foundation stone of the first phase of the integrated complex ‘Karmayogi Bhawan’ here and said that this will further strengthen the government’s initiative towards capacity building.
Along with discussing the opening of new sectors and creation of employment and self-employment opportunities for the youth due to the efforts of the government, the Prime Minister also mentioned in the budget the announcement of setting up one crore rooftop solar plants, which will reduce the electricity bills of the families. And they will be able to earn economic profits by supplying electricity to the grid. He said that this scheme will create lakhs of new jobs.
The Prime Minister expressed happiness that India has the third largest startup ecosystem in the world with about 1.25 lakh startups and many of these startups are from Tier 2 or Tier 3 cities. He said that these startups are creating new employment opportunities, hence continuation of tax exemption for startups has been announced in the budget. The Prime Minister also mentioned the Rs 1 lakh crore fund announced in the budget to promote research and innovation.
The Prime Minister said that recruitment in Railways is also being done through employment fair and Railways is the first choice of common people in terms of travel. He said that Railways in India is going through a massive transformation and the next decade will witness a complete transformation of the sector. He reminded that before 2014, not much attention was given to Railways and also discussed electrification and doubling of railway lines as well as introducing new trains and increasing facilities for passengers. The Prime Minister said that after the year 2014, a campaign was launched to make the entire train travel experience pleasant by focusing on modernization and upgradation of Railways. He said that in this year’s budget, 40,000 modern bogies like Vande Bharat Express will be prepared and added to normal trains, this will make the journey of passengers more convenient.
Discussing the far-reaching impact of connectivity, the Prime Minister mentioned the creation of new markets, expansion of tourism, new businesses and millions of jobs due to better connectivity. The Prime Minister said investment in infrastructure is being increased to drive growth, as Rs 11 lakh crore has been earmarked for investment in infrastructure in the recent budget. He said that new rail, road, airport and waterway projects will create new employment opportunities.
Expressing his views on new appointments in paramilitary forces, the Prime Minister stressed on reforms in the selection process for paramilitary forces. Giving information, he said that from this January the examination is being conducted in 13 Indian languages apart from Hindi and English. This will provide equal opportunity to lakhs of candidates. He also informed about increasing the quota for border and militancy affected districts.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the role of government employees in the Developed India visit. He said that more than one lakh Karmayogi joining today will provide new energy and momentum to this Yatra. The Prime Minister called upon the newly appointed Karmayogis to dedicate themselves every day to nation building. Mr Modi informed them about the Karmayogi Bharat portal, which has over 800 courses and has 30 lakh users. The Prime Minister appealed to them to take full advantage of this.
