Police arrested the accused of cheating people by changing ATM cards


Jalandhar/ Shankar Gujjar: Police Commissionerate has arrested a person who fraudulently changed ATM cards along with 22 ATM cards of different banks. The Police Commissioner said that the police had received secret information that a person was cheating people by fraudulently changing ATM cards. Police started investigating the case and arrested the accused from near Pathankot Chowk in the city. The arrested person has been identified as Deepak Kumar alias Sonu, son of Kamleshwar Pandey, resident of BX 1241/4, near Ravidas Mandir Lamma Pind. During investigation it was revealed that Deepak Kumar was allegedly involved in several frauds. In which he fraudulently changed the ATM card and withdrew money. Police have recovered 22 ATMs from the possession of the accused. In which four each from SBI Bank and HDFC Bank, three from Central Bank of India, two each from Bank of Baroda and Axis Bank, Union Bank, PNB Bank, Canara Bank, IFFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IBDI Bank. One ATM each is included.
A case has been registered against the accused in Police Station Division 8 under Section 379,420,411 IPC. Three FIRs and one DDR related to theft, cheating and other serious sections are already pending against the accused. The matter is being investigated further.
