President Erdoğan: We took our place in global competition with TOGG

President Erdoğan said, “We have disappointed the logic of those who say that Turks cannot make cars,” and stated that they recently opened Ford Otosan’s new factory, which creates employment for 3,500 people, and added, “With the production and sales start of Togg, we took our place in global competition with our own brand. Togg also has 12 companies.” “He delivered a thousand units,” he said.

The Ford Otosan Yeniköy factory, which we opened upon our return from Kazakhstan, is an important investment that provides employment for a total of 3,500 people. Our automotive industry continues to be the locomotive of the Turkish economy. We are the 13th largest automotive manufacturer in the world in this sector. With the production and sales of TOGG, we took our place in global competition with our own brand. With the implementation of this project, which I follow every stage closely, we have disappointed those who said ‘Turks cannot make a car, there is no production line in the factory, citizens will not buy it’, and the current extensions of those who condemned the Devrim car to the garage 60 years ago.

“Togg made nearly 12 thousand deliveries”

TOGG has made nearly 12 thousand deliveries so far. The number of vehicles coming off the production line and being delivered is increasing day by day. It will be better understood how we joined this race at the right time. We officially opened the works, projects and services completed by our ministries and municipalities in Rize, with an investment cost of 2 billion 886 million liras. On this occasion, we laid the foundation of the 36.7 kilometer long Ayder road. We met with the President of Uzbekistan and the leaders of the participating countries at the Economic Cooperation Organization in Tashkent on November 8-9. We will continue to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Economic Cooperation Organization, which we established together with Iran and Pakistan.
