Breaking every box office record There’s still tomorrow by Paola Cortellesi also wins the David di Donatello. She obtained the highest number of nominations of this edition, 19. In second place, I am Captain by Matteo Garrone, with 15 nominations, followed by The Chimera by Alice Rohrwacher (13 nominations). Kidnapped by Marco Bellocchio (11 nominations), Commander by Edoardo De Angelis (10 nominations) e The Sun of the Future by Nanni Moretti (7 nominations).

The President and artistic director of the Academy of Italian Cinema – David di Donatello Awards, Piera Detassis, revealed the five at the press conference in the Rai headquarters in Viale Mazzini. The David di Donatello award ceremony will be broadcast on Friday 3 May, in prime time on Rai1, hosted by Carlo Conti.

There’s Still Tomorrow, The Sun of the Future, I Captain, The Chimera and Kidnapped. The five candidates for the David for the Best Direction instead they are: Nanni Moretti for The Sun of the Future, Matteo Garrone for The Captain. Andrea Di Stefano for L’ultima notte di Amore, Alice Rohrwacher for La chimera and Marco Bellocchio for Rapitòo.

Competing for the David for Best Leading Actress: Paola Cortellesi for There’s Still Tomorrow. Isabella Ragonese for Like Sheep Among Wolves, Micaela Ramazzotti for Felicità. Linda Caridi for The Last Night of Love and Barbara Ronchi for Kidnapped.
