Tatiana Vepretskaya, director of the ANP National Housing Congress partnership, said that constantly open windows in the entrances of apartment buildings lead to overpayments for heating. RIA Real Estate reports this.

Vepretskaya explained that heating an apartment building in the south in December requires 300 gigacalories, and in the north – 700 gigacalories.

“Windows open and enough heat is lost to heat the house. <...> In homes with an energy efficiency rating of D and below, if the windows are open, you can essentially get the cost of double heating,” she said.

In turn, Dmitry Osyanin, associate professor of the basic department of financial control, analysis and audit of the Main Control Directorate of Moscow Russian Economic University named after G.V. Plekhanov, clarified that the amount of overpayment for heating depends on several factors: the square footage of the apartment, the installation of heat meters in it, heat tariffs in the region . On average, due to open windows, each apartment overpays from 150 to 400 rubles per quarter.

Earlier, lawyer Mikhail Salkin explained how to correctly file a complaint against the manager of an apartment in the absence of heating. He recalled that the complaint must be submitted to the State Housing Inspectorate or other authorized body.
