Shelling of Ukraine in winter: three levels of protection against attacks on energy facilities have been created

Preparing for possible Russian attacks, the government and the General Staff decided to protect energy infrastructure facilities.

It will consist of three levels. This is reported by the State Agency for Reconstruction.

“Ukrenergo formed the tasks for design and construction, and the design decisions were coordinated with the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the State Emergency Service,” the message says.

Protection of power facilities consists of the following levels:

First level – construction of gabions and big-begs. Today, 90 objects in 21 regions are protected from drone and missile debris.

Second level – protection from drones and “shakheds”. Concrete structures that are being built around the main network of Ukrenergo. 22 substations and 63 autotransformers in 14 regions are protected.

The third level – missile defense. 22 substations are protected from direct hits by the most powerful missiles in 14 regions.

“In the design, the initial data from the General Staff, the manual for the engineering troops and international regulatory documents obtained from specialized specialists during training in Britain according to the regulations and standards of Britain and the United States are used,” – says the department’s website.
