Rajkot, 03 April (HS). The investigation into two complaints of violation of election code of conduct against Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister and BJP candidate from Rajkot Lok Sabha seat Parshottam Rupala has been completed. Collector Prabhav Joshi has sent the investigation report to the Chief Electoral Officer of the state on Wednesday. In this matter, the investigation committee had submitted the report to the Collector of Rajkot a day earlier.

Rajkot Collector Prabhav Joshi said that a complaint was made regarding Parshottam Rupala’s remarks regarding Kshatriya community and violation of code of conduct regarding BJP’s training organized at Swaminarayan Temple on Kalavad Road. The investigation of these complaints has been completed. The investigation committee of the District Election Commission has submitted its report on Tuesday. Now its report has been submitted to the state’s Chief Electoral Officer P Bharathi.

The video of BJP candidate Parshottam Rupala’s statement in Rajkot regarding the Kshatriya community went viral rapidly, due to which the Kshatriya community came out in protest. Later, Rupala had also apologized in a conference organized under the leadership of Jairajsingh Jadeja of Gondal. Even after this, Kshatriya Samaj is demanding cancellation of Rupala’s candidature.

After the video of Rupala’s statement went viral, the Election Commission had ordered an investigation. The Collector of Rajkot had handed over the investigation to the Nodal Officer including the State Officer. After this, a meeting was organized in Swaminarayan Temple in support of BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate Rupala. Congress had complained about this, after which an investigation was conducted. Now all eyes are on what action the Election Commission takes on the basis of the investigation report against Rupala.
