The ministerial committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit holds a meeting with the Vice President of China

Today, the Ministerial Committee in charge of the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, headed by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Han Jing, in the Great Hall of the People in the capital, Beijing.

The members of the Ministerial Committee participated in the meeting, namely: His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shukri, His Excellency the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Maliki, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Retno Marsudi, and His Excellency Secretary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chinese Vice President appreciated the high efforts of the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh, and the resulting decisions aimed at reducing escalation, protecting civilians, and restoring peace efforts, stressing his country’s support for the efforts of the joint ministerial committee emerging from the summit to continue its diplomatic efforts and play a role. The Chinese Vice President said: Since the outbreak of the crisis in Gaza, his country has been working strongly to push for a ceasefire, protect civilians, allow humanitarian relief, and find a just solution to the Palestinian issue, indicating that China is keen to coordinate and work with Arab and Islamic countries to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza Strip, and ensuring calm as quickly as possible.

In turn, the members of the Ministerial Committee praised the positions taken by China regarding the crisis in the Gaza Strip, which are consistent with Arab and Islamic positions, pointing to the positive role played by China in the Security Council towards a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

The meeting also discussed developments in the situation in the Gaza Strip and its surroundings, and the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire, protecting unarmed civilians, and vital installations, including places of worship and hospitals, the storming of Al-Shifa Hospital, and the attack on the Indonesian Hospital, the Jordanian Field Hospital, and relief and shelter centers in the Gaza Strip.

The members of the ministerial committee assigned by the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit stressed the importance of immediately stopping the military escalation and the forced displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, securing safe corridors for the entry of urgent humanitarian, food and medical aid, and reviving the path of the peace process in accordance with international resolutions, in a way that guarantees the rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of… Its independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The members of the Ministerial Committee stressed the importance of the international community fulfilling its responsibility, especially the permanent members of the Security Council, to move towards stopping the flagrant Israeli violations of international laws and international humanitarian law.
