The ministerial committee assigned by the Joint Arab-Islamic Summit holds an official meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister

Today, the Ministerial Committee in charge of the Extraordinary Joint Arab-Islamic Summit, headed by His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, held an official meeting with His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergei Lavrov, at the Russian Guest Palace.
The members of the Ministerial Committee participated in the meeting, namely: His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Sameh Shukri, His Excellency the Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Riyad Al-Maliki, His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Retno Marsudi, and His Excellency Secretary of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha.

The Russian Foreign Minister indicated that his country stands with immediate ceasefire efforts, in accordance with the resolutions of the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly, and in accordance with the decisions of the peace summit in Cairo and the extraordinary joint Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh.
He expressed his country’s condemnation of collective punishment against civilians in the Gaza Strip, as they are blatant violations of international humanitarian law, stressing the importance of moving towards stopping all violations of international laws and international humanitarian law, with the importance of introducing more humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip to avoid an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.

Subsequently, the members of the Ministerial Committee stressed the importance of members of the Security Council and the international community taking effective and urgent measures for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, stressing that this is a priority for all Arab and Islamic countries.
The members pointed out the importance of immediately lifting the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, releasing prisoners and hostages, and reactivating a serious and just peace process that enjoys the support of international legitimacy authorities.
The members of the Ministerial Committee called on the international community to fulfill its responsibility by rejecting all forms of selectivity in applying international legal and moral standards, and turning a blind eye to the heinous crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces against defenseless Palestinian civilians, and the trend of the occupation’s violations against the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

The members of the Ministerial Committee stressed the importance of immediately allowing the delivery of humanitarian aid, food, water, fuel and electricity to Gaza, which is a moral and legal responsibility of the entire international community, noting that depriving the people of Gaza of the basic requirements of life is a clear violation of international humanitarian law, especially the Fourth Geneva Convention, and a transgression of… All human values ​​and principles.
