The Ministry of Information and Google News conclude the first phase of the “Media Leadership Training” program

Today, the Ministry of Information concluded the first qualifying workshop of the “Media Leadership Training” program, which was held at the Ministry’s headquarters in partnership with the Google News Initiative and Upskill Digital, and was attended by a number of media professionals representing Saudi media institutions and companies.
His Excellency the Minister of Information had launched the “Media Leadership Training” program during the “First Media Partners” meeting on October 9, as part of 5 media initiatives launched by the Ministry.
The program, which lasts a full year: Within the framework of the Ministry of Information’s endeavor to support and empower Saudi media institutions, through partnership with a number of specialized international media outlets and academies, with the aim of qualifying and developing media cadres and enhancing their skills to lead media institutions.
The workshop, which was presented by experts from the Google News Initiative and Upskill Digital, witnessed a number of Saudi media leaders; Shedding light on a number of important topics, such as how the media attracts the target audience, correct access, and measuring impact, in addition to ways and methods of developing editing and publishing skills in the digital world using various technologies, introducing verification techniques, and combating fake and fake news.
The workshop participants learned about the latest content development techniques and methods across various platforms, building business models, and growing revenues.
The second phase of the “Ministry of Information’s program for training media leaders” will begin in February 2024, and will continue for 12 weeks.
