The Moscow City Court left Ponasenkov on the register of foreign agents

The Moscow City Court recognized as legal the decision of the Ministry of Justice not to reconsider the issue of including blogger Evgeny Ponasenkov* in the register of foreign agents. This information is contained in the case materials available to RIA Novosti.

According to the department, Ponasenkov filed a complaint. He demanded that the inspection by the Ministry of Justice be declared illegal, and that he be excluded from the list of foreign agents.

“He indicated that he had not received a copy of the contested order, and the inspection report did not indicate the circumstances and grounds for refusing to be removed from the register,” the Moscow City Court noted.

During a new inspection, the Ministry of Justice noted that it had revealed facts of foreign influence. For example, in Ponasenkov’s publications the idea of “the superiority of European statehood over the Russian political system” was discovered. In addition, the blogger repeatedly left the Russian Federation and recorded videos abroad.

It is also indicated that the author of the video called on Russia to emulate the government structure of the EU countries. In addition, he questioned the “legitimacy and credibility” of Russian leaders.

It was previously reported that a unified register of foreign agents may appear in Russia. It will be conducted by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation.
