Government approved DPR of 91 km long road route worth Rs 58 crore –
First installment released for construction of double lane road from Baghchhal to Shahtalai via Kalol, Shahtalai to Badsar and from Badsar to Dhaneta –
Hamirpur/Special Correspondent: Although the construction work of the newly constructed Asia’s longest concrete cantilever span Baghchhal Bridge on Govind Sagar Lake is still going on in the final stage, the efforts to connect district Hamirpur with this bridge through a double lane road have already started. The Sukhu government of the state has approved the DPR worth Rs 58 crore for the upgradation of the 91 km long road from Baghchhal to Rangas. For this double lane road, which is being upgraded in three phases, the government has also released the first installment of Rs 9 crore in three different phases. According to the government notification, an amount of Rs 3 crore has been released for double laning of the road from Baghchhal bridge to Shahtalai via Kalol in the first phase, Rs 3 crore for upgradation of the road from Shahtalai to Badsar in the second phase and Rs 3 crore in the third phase. An amount of Rs 3 crore has also been released from Dhaneta to Badsar. Similarly, double lane road work will also be done from Dhaneta to Rangas via Kangu. This will be an alternate double lane road for outside states, which will not only provide convenience to the people of Bilaspur and Hamirpur districts, but the people of other districts of the state including Kangra district will also get direct benefit from the upgrade of this road. For Chandigarh, Delhi and other states, people will have to travel less by 35 to 40 kilometers, which will make transportation easier for outside states. Not only the people of Bilaspur but the people of entire Hamirpur including Badsar have expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for his efforts to connect Hamirpur with Baghchhal bridge through double lane road. State Congress Secretary Kishan Kumar Chaudhary, Block Congress President Kewal Dhiman, Block AC Cell President Krishna Kumar, Bijhari Panchayat President Sanjay Sharma, former President Satish Soni and the entire Badsar Congress have wholeheartedly thanked the Chief Minister for this gift.
- A double lane road will be built from Baghchhal bridge Kotdhar to Shahtalai, Badsar, Dhaneta, Kangu and Rangas. The Chief Minister has approved the DPR for the upgradation of this road. The upgrading of this road will directly benefit not only Bilaspur but also Badsar, Hamirpur and Kangra and other areas. For this, the people of Badsar thank and thank Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.
