The water price increase requested by İSKİ, affiliated with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, has been announced.

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) proposed a 48 percent increase in water consumption at the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) General Assembly to be held tomorrow.

With the approval of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality President Ekrem İmamoğlu, a letter containing the İSKİ water sales and used water disposal fee tariff proposals, 2024 analytical budget draft, 2024 investment program and 2024 performance program items was sent to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Assembly.

The increased tariff proposal received by the IMM Assembly was referred to the Tariff Commission for review.

In the proposal, by making a 48 percent increase, the current price of 20.62 lira in the 1st stage for housing between 0-15 cubic meters will be reduced to 30.54 lira, in the 2nd stage the price of 29.68 lira for up to 30 cubic meters will be reduced to 43.95 lira, and in the 3rd stage for 31 cubic meters and above. It was suggested that the price per cubic meter should be 59.85 lira, which was 40.42 lira.

In the proposal, it was suggested that the price of 54.03 lira in the first stage between 0-40 cubic meters be increased to 79.98 lira, and the price of 62.50 lira in the 2nd stage over 41 cubic meters should be increased to 92.52 lira.

In the proposal in question, it was requested that the increased tariff to be applied come into force on the date of approval and that the tariff be updated monthly according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate announced every month by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).

The İSKİ General Assembly will be held tomorrow in the council hall of the municipality building in Saraçhane.
