New Delhi, 23 February (HS). The second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) begins today in Bengaluru with a clash between defending champions Mumbai Indians and runners-up Delhi Capitals.

Expressing his happiness over the league, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah wrote on Twitter on Friday, “As we begin a new journey today with the start of the Women’s Premier League Season 2, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. In the second edition of the tournament which will last for 25 days, 22 matches will be played between five teams. This season, matches will be played in Bengaluru and New Delhi, with no change in the league format. Each team will play the other four twice in the group stage round and the winner will advance to the final. The second and third placed teams will face off in the eliminator. The winning team will qualify for the final to be held on March 17.
