Two Keramas Residents Bitten by Rabid Dogs

GIANYAR, BALIPOST.com – Two residents of Keramas Village, with the initials NKVA (10) and NWM (56) became victims of dog bites that tested positive for rabies. Due to this incident, Babinsa Keramas Serka I Wayan Juliawan together with Blahbatuh 1 Community Health Center officers and Village Staff checked residents who were victims of dog bites that tested positive for rabies, Tuesday (21/11).

Babinsa Keramas gave a statement after the dog bite victim occurred, the Blahbatuh Satu Community Health Center, accompanied by Village Staff, immediately carried out an examination of the victim. The team also tested the dog that bit by taking saliva samples.

The results showed that the dog that bit the victim was positive for rabies. He explained that NKVA was bitten on Friday, November 17 2023 at 18.00 WITA. For this reason, this resident has been vaccinated against VAR once and will continue with the second VAR on November 25 2023.

The second victim was bitten by a rabid dog on the same day but at a different time. The victim was said to have been bitten by a rabid dog at 20.00 WITA. The victim has also been vaccinated against VAR once and continued with the second vaccine on November 25 2023. “It is planned to take action to eliminate the dog that bit Friday, November 25 2023,” he said.
