Ukrainians who helped illegal immigrants cross the border were detained in Poland

Two citizens of Ukraine, who are suspected of involvement in the organization of illegal crossing of the Polish-Belarusian border, were detained in Poland.

Details: As mentioned, one of the Ukrainians was detained by the police from Neborów on the A2 highway in Lodz Voivodeship.

Another suspect was detained by the Polish law enforcement officers in the city of Jelenia Hura.

Both men were accused by the Bialystok District Prosecutor’s Office of organizing multiple crossings of the state border in violation of the law.

On the basis of the materials collected in the case, the District Court of Bialystok-Southern applied a preventive measure in the form of a temporary arrest for a period of 3 months to one of the citizens of Ukraine.

As for the second, a preventive measure was determined in the form of a ban on leaving the country and police supervision with the obligation to report twice a week to the City Police Department.

The Criminal Code of Poland provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 6 months to 8 years for organizing an illegal border crossing.

Recently, border guards detained two citizens of Ukraine in the Panevezys and Kedain districts of Lithuania, who are suspected of trying to transport four Somali women to Western Europe for a reward.
