İYİ Party Sakarya Deputy Ümit Dikbayır, who was referred to the disciplinary board yesterday with a request for definitive expulsion on the allegation of “harassment” after it was claimed that İYİ Party Chairman Meral Akşener had his family’s bank accounts examined, published a video statement.

Dikbayır, who called the allegations against him “gossip” and “slander” in the video he shared on his social media account, said, “I am now bringing these ugliness to the agenda of justice and law.”

Dikbayır, who had previously decided to resign from the party following the allegations, told journalist İpek Özbey, “I gave up. “I realized that if I resign, it will be on me, and I will continue to fight until the end,” he said.

Dikbayır briefly stated the following in his video message:

“I believed that Akşener would not allow any effort given to the party to be used in the same sentence as slander. This did not happen.”

“Even though my personal honor and dignity were at stake in the first days, I kept my silence so that the efforts of my colleagues would not be wasted, not even a speck of dust. I believed and expected that our Chairman would break this wheel of gossip and slander and do what was necessary. I believed that Mr. Chairman Meral Akşener joined the party “It will not allow any labor given to be used in the same sentence as slander, theft and money relations. But it did not happen… Instead of preventing these ugly and crooked works, wood was thrown under that cauldron.”

“Calculating and cunning people and groups…”

“Although I maintained my silence, I demanded that the allegations against me be investigated in order to give relief and respite to our party. However, I regretfully experienced that my sensitivity to protect the efforts that I considered as a sacred trust was not reciprocated in the boards of our party. At this point, a shadow is cast on the İYİ Party, which promises the sun to Turkey and the Turkish nation. “It is impossible for me to remain silent in the face of this. I have seen that silence will only strengthen the calculating and cunning individuals and groups that surround our Chairman.”

“New lies are produced every day…”

“We are faced with such an unlimited slander campaign that allegations change every day, new lies are produced every day. New hearts are broken every day. As a matter of fact, the rumors that started with the lies that I had the bank accounts of Mr. Chairman and his relatives examined, are the immoral allegations against which the harassment slander that was cited as the reason for my referral to the disciplinary board was made. “He was dragged into a whirlpool.”

“With the lies of a few ignorant people…”

“I cannot remain silent as this group, which can become so simple and so debased, pollutes good and brave people even more. I am fighting for dignity, this struggle is not just a struggle on my own behalf. This struggle is for my family, whom I hold dear to my heart, and all our veterans, my wholehearted support.” It is on behalf of our voters who gave in. It is to prevent the İYİ Party from being remembered with rumors and slander that none of its members deserve.

This movement is not an abandoned movement in which a few self-conscious people who patronize all our veterans will try to poison the Chairman’s mind and conscience with their lies. This movement is not a movement that will be crushed or discredited in the gossip wheel of a few self-conscious people who act like lords over all of us, from our provincial and district presidents to our brave people working in the neighborhoods. This movement is not a movement that can be a toy in the hands of an ignorant group that considers our party to be their personal property and that they can manage all its elements. “This movement is not a movement where an arrogant group can waste good and brave people like coins.”
