WhatsApp launches a new feature that gives users an additional access method

The instant messaging platform “WhatsApp” has launched a new feature that allows users to link their accounts to their email.
This feature allows you to receive a 6-digit verification code via email when logging in to your account, if you do not receive it via an SMS phone message.

This method is an alternative login method if users are temporarily unable to obtain a verification code via SMS.

But users still must use a phone number to create an account, and logging in with a phone number is still an option.
It is noteworthy that e-mail addresses do not represent a substitute for phone numbers, but rather give users an additional method of access to the accounts they created with their phone numbers.

WhatsApp is launching the new feature gradually, and users will only have to update their application to the latest version available in the App Store to obtain it.

Users can link their accounts to their email by following these steps:

1. Open the WhatsApp application.
2. Click on Settings.
3. Click on Account.
4. Click on “Add your email”.
5. Type your email address.
6. Click “Next”.
7. WhatsApp will send a code to your email address.
8. Type the code in WhatsApp.
9. Click “Confirm”.

Note that the email does not appear for any other WhatsApp account.
