Another meager harvest for Córdoba in the Argentine Athletics Championship

The dispute of the 104th Argentine Athletics Championships in Mar del Plata left seven athletes from Córdoba on the podium this weekend, taking a new step back in the competition.
Clara Baiocchi (3000 meters steeplechase), Lorenzo Rossetto (800 meters), Noelia Martínez (400 meters), Juan Ignacio Carballo (shot put) and Luisina Zabala (200 meters) won the silver medals while Luciano Ferrari (jumping long) and Victoria Mojica (100 meters hurdles) took the bronze medals.
These are two metals less than those achieved last year, when even Ferrari from Rio Cuarto had become champion.
The Argentine Championship put an end to two weeks of demanding activity for national athletes, after three dates of the South American Grand Prix. In this context, the series of tournaments generated a good harvest of medals for Baiocchi, Carballo and Rossetto.
Among the high points at the national level, the championship records achieved by Belén Casetta (3,000 meters with obstacles), Joaquín Gómez (hammer throw), Fedra Luna (1,500 meters), Brian López (long jump) and the men’s relay stood out. 4×400 of the Metropolitan Federation.
