However, according to the last high-ranking public official asset report filed in May after Attorney Lee, Candidate Park’s spouse, retired from her position as a research fellow at the Legal Research and Training Institute in February of last year, the couple’s total assets at the time were only 875 million won. In just one year after her spouse’s retirement, her assets increased by about 4.1 billion won. In particular, when comparing the details of lawyer Lee’s report in May of last year with Candidate Park’s report this time, lawyer Lee’s deposits jumped from 21 million won to 3.268 billion won this month.

During this period, it is known that this lawyer was in charge of defending the CEO of Huestem Korea, a company that stole membership fees worth 1 trillion won from approximately 100,000 people through a similar multi-level organization. Hustem Korea executives and corporations were indicted in January on charges of recruiting investors by pretending to trade agricultural, livestock and marine products and then stealing their investment funds. Attorney Lee was also appointed as the company’s lawyer in the ‘Ado International fraud case’, which is suspected of committing a crime of quasi-receipt worth 400 billion won.
