Francesco Schiavone, known as “Sandokan”, head of one of the most fearsome gangs in the galaxy of organized crime, that of the Casalesi, is collaborating with justice.
The news comes a few days after the thirtieth anniversary of the killing of Don Peppe Diana. His decision to collaborate with justice probably dates back to a few weeks ago, when the news leaked out that he had been transferred to L’Aquila prison for a medical examination because he was ill.

Born seventy years ago in Casal di Principe, he has been in prison since 11 July 1998, when he was discovered in a bunker of a house in the center of Casal di Principe, in via Salerno, together with his wife and two children.
He must serve several life sentences. His criminal career began very early, even before the age of eighteen, first as the boss’s driver Umberto Ammaturo and then as a driver and shoulder guard Antonio Bardellinoagainst whom he revolted together with the other leaders of the Casalese clans and assumed command of the criminal association after the disappearance of the leader.
Bardellino’s death is, in fact, one of the mysteries that his collaboration with the magistrates will probably help to unravel.
