Representative Lee posted a post on his social networking service (SNS) Facebook around 11 p.m. on this day, saying, “Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office gathered the arrested Ssangbangwool officials at the prosecutor’s office, allowed them to drink alcohol, and practiced ‘false statements to kill Lee Jae-myung.’” He said, “There is no such thing.” ? This is a remark made after former Deputy Governor Lee Hwa-young claimed during the defense’s interrogation of the defendant on the 4th that she held a ‘virtual seminar’ to bring together CEO Lee Jae-myung with former Ssangbangwool Chairman Kim Seong-tae.

Former Deputy Governor Lee said, “I also drank alcohol,” and added, “I think an employee of Ssangbangwool bought it.” He also said, “It was a communion that could not be eaten inside the detention center.”

In response, the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office said, “Everyone can see that this is an absurd claim that could never be imagined under a prison administration that strictly operates a prisoner custody system,” and added, “We express our deepest regret.”

Representative Lee also said at the Supreme Council meeting this morning, “This is a very serious matter. He defined it as “not just a disciplinary matter or a mistake, but a case of disorderly conduct of the national flag.”

The case of Ssangbangwool’s remittance to North Korea is a suspicion that Ssangbangwool paid a North Korean figure for the smart farm project support fee ($5 million) that Gyeonggi Province promised to pay to North Korea and the cost of the visit to North Korea by then-governor Lee Jae-myeong ($3 million).
