“Sandokan” and the list of colluders: “I, a man of honor, will tell the truth”

These are the days, between now and the next six months established by law, during which the justice collaborator will have to indicate the elements capable of leading the magistrates to the keys to the safe of the Casal di Principe organisation: the traces of investments that could having arrived abroad, Spain, the Canary Islands, perhaps Romania, the names of the launderers, of those who were financed with the gang’s money and then continued to do business, often in public contracts, growing the “mother yeast” provided by the godfather, to use the definition recorded already in 2018 by Schiavone’s wife, Giuseppina Nappa. And of course the politicians supported with votes polluted by the Camorra.

On the accomplices of the Gomorrah season, “Sandokan” plays a good part of its game with the State. “I am a man of honour, I will tell the truth”, assures the seventy-year-old who from the first conversations with the magistrates wanted to claim his membership in Cosa Nostra. This data may open up further investigative scenarios: Schiavone was arrested after a long absence on 11 July 1998.
He was at the height of his power when the Sicilian mafia planned and carried out the massacres of 1992. On May 23, the judge was murdered on the motorway near Capaci. Giovanni Falcone with his wife Francesca Morvillo and the escort, on the following 19 July in via D’Amelio in Palermo a car bomb killed the judge Paolo Borsellino and the agents who protected him. Does the former Casalese boss know any background to those events? And above all, did he participate in the heated confrontation between the leaders of the mafia who wanted to exert pressure to reduce harsh prison terms?

After the first meeting with the national anti-mafia prosecutor Giovanni Melillo and the DNA prosecutor Antonello Arditurowho have gathered his willingness to make statements, the collaboration of “Sandokan” is now managed by the prosecutor of Naples, Nicola Gratteri with the pool composed of the deputy prosecutor Michele Del Prete and by prosecutors Vincenzo Ranieri And Simona Belluccio.
