He, a 22-year-old Italian, with no criminal record, is waiting for her armed with a knife. He attacks his ex-partner and injures with several blows first a 57-year-old nurse, then a 56-year-old cleaner and, finally, a 74-year-old patient who try to stop him.

“I was afraid that no one would react”

«I didn’t ask for much help directly – the young woman continues – but I started screaming so that people could hear me because the moment I realized that he was about to attack me, I was afraid that no one would react. He was collapsed on the ground, next to him was a woman who was calling the police. Then I started to see him reach into his pocket and take out a knife. I shouted “he has a knife”. A gentleman ran into him to try to disarm him, I remember that he managed to tackle him against a wall and the other people helped me escape into the clinic. I didn’t believe it, I said he caused this blood.”

“Sometimes he put his hands on me and raped me”

When asked if he had already been violent with her, the girl replies: «Sometimes it has happened, but not to this extent. Every now and then it happened that he put his hand on me, that he tried to strangle me. What if there were times he raped me? Yes, many times, I simply told him “Daniele, I don’t feel like it anymore, leave me alone”. He didn’t care, if it weren’t for them, my guardian angels, I wouldn’t even be here by now.”
