8 April 2024 – Dr. Wanthanee Wattana, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, along with Ms. Sasithorn Prasitphonudom Member of the Bangkok Council, Phra Nakhon District, Executive of the Phra Nakhon District Office Participate in the merit-making ceremony on the occasion of the 240 year old temple for Phra Nakhon (Brahmin Church) at the temple for Phra Nakhon (Brahmin Church), Phra Nakhon District.
Because 8 April 2024 is the 240th anniversary of the founding of His Majesty King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great. He established a temple for the city (Brahmin Church). Therefore, a merit-making ceremony was held to offer royal merit to His Majesty King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great and the Eastern Kings of the Chakri Dynasty.
Important ceremonies include Ceremony to worship His Majesty King Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and teachers Phra Dhamma Vajirayana Abbot of Wat Bowonniwet Vihara and another 9 monks from Wat Bowonniwet Vihara chanted prayers and offered royal merit to His Majesty King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great His Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and teachers
The Brahmin Temple or the Brahmin Phra Rajakhru Shrine in the Royal Palace Commonly called Brahmin Church, it was built in 1784 by King Rama I. It was built to be used as a place for Brahmin religious ceremonies. such as the swinging ceremony Triyampavai Ceremony and shaving ceremony, etc.
In front of the three shrines, there is an arch housing the Brahma idol in the middle of a pond. Behind are three Thai-style buildings that are now more than 200 years old, divided into Shiva shrines. It is a large church in this place. Inside is an idol of Lord Shiva. Sitting as the principal Buddha image in the center of the altar. The next pedestal is where the idols of Umadevi, Brahma, and Shiva are enshrined, as well as Konanti statues on both sides of the pedestal. Next to this side of the building is also a Shivalinga temple.
Shrine of Maha Viganesh (Ganesha), middle church Inside are five Ganesha idols. All made of stone, namely 1 granite, 1 sandstone, 2 green stone and 1 bronze and the temple of Lord Narayana. Inside are enshrined three Busabok statues side by side. It consists of an idol of Lakshmi. (Left-hand Bussabok), Narayana (middle Busabok) and Phra Bhumdevi. (Right-hand Busabok) In the middle of the church is a pillar that looks like a small swing pole. For use in the Swan Ceremony
