His Excellency reviewed the smooth flow of movement of travelers and Umrah pilgrims, and the progress of work according to the approved operational plans for the Umrah season during the blessed month of Ramadan 1445 AH. To provide the best services that contribute to providing comfort and convenience to the guests of God, in effective partnership with more than 27 governmental, security and operational agencies.
His Excellency Al-Jasser’s visit began with an inspection of the group furniture area project in the Hajj and Umrah halls, then he inspected the air-conditioned lounges designated for travelers, which number 20 air-conditioned lounges that accommodate 6,000 passengers per hour.
Then His Excellency moved to the northern hall to view the sorting area project, which is located on an area of ​​1,430 square metres, where there is a waiting hall that can accommodate 522 passengers. He also listened to a comprehensive explanation of the mechanism of its operation during the seasons.
The visit included Hall (1), the sorting area project, with a total area exceeding 24,000 square metres, which contains a waiting hall that accommodates 1,800 passengers per hour, in addition to parking spaces that accommodate 83 buses. His Excellency also inspected the operations control and control center and facilities on the automated passenger transport area. And the halls for tourist visas and connecting flights.
After that, His Excellency visited the Media Monitoring and Forecasting Center of the Airports Holding Company in the Command and Control Building at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, which aims to monitor everything published on social media and media platforms about the aviation and airport system under the supervision and follow-up of specialized national cadres, with the aim of raising the efficiency of the communication aspects. system during peak seasons and improving the experience of travelers and guests of the Kingdom.
His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics concluded his field tour with airport workers participating in the Ramadan iftar meal, directing the intensification of efforts to facilitate the movement of pilgrims, visitors and travelers, and to provide them with a rich travel experience according to the highest standards of quality and convenience. In the arrival and departure stages, in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – to provide the best services to the guests of God, and to achieve the objectives of the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics and the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. He praised the efforts of all workers in the airport sectors, and appreciated the amount of coordination.
