André Henriques, vocalist, guitarist and lyricist of Linda Martini, presented this Friday ‘Os Fantasmas de Amanhã’, a new solo theme, to be included in the new album that will be presented live on November 15th, at Teatro Maria Matos, in Lisbon.
The lead singer of Linda Martini announced the song on her social networks, where she also spoke about the cover of the single: “[É] uan image created from a photograph my father took in February 1980, two months before I was born.”
In a statement, it is explained that André Henriques’ new album was born when the musician “fled from the city to the countryside” and that in ‘The ghosts of tomorrow’ you can hear “clarinets over a slowed down groove, somewhere between the soul of Marvin Gaye, the soul of Tim Maia and the nerve of Vic Chesnutt.”
The album was recorded with Brazilians Ricardo Dias Gomes and Domenico Lancellotti, who have already worked with Caetano Veloso and Adriana Calcanhotto.
“I still receive letters addressed to the former owner of the house where I am”, shares André Henriques. “He passed away a few years ago, but for some reason I never find the courage to inform the postman that he no longer lives here. his last breath, a remote possibility of existence, was in my hands. I found myself thinking that one day someone would receive my letters. Ironically, my friend Paulo Segadães, photographer and musician who made this beautiful film, was once a postman there are many lives and I knew exactly what to do with it all.”
Solo, André Henriques, vocalist, guitarist and lyricist of Linda Martini, has an edited album – “Cajarana”, from 2020 – and has written several songs for other artists, such as Cristina Branco or, more recently, Lara Li, who sang one of her songs at the Festival da Canção.
