Boy pushed against the train in Seregno, the judge sends the two attackers of the same age to juvenile prison and community

The investigating judge of the Juvenile Court of Milan maintains that there is no danger of escape for the two 14- and 15-year-old boys stopped by the Mobile Squad and by the Polfer of Monza for having pushed one of their peers under a train in transit at the Seregno station. As will be recalled, the two had left the quay after the attack, when they realized that the 15-year-old had miraculously come out alive from under the convoy, having saved himself fortuitously between the rails and the embankment close to the quay: the investigators had intercepted one of the two while he was riding a bike near the station, while the second had been handed over to the carabinieri of Desio by his grandmother, where he had taken refuge.

So the arrests for attempted murder and attempted robbery, that of the victim’s white sweatshirt, “guilty” of having sent some message to a girl who had fallen in love with one of the rival kids. Provisions that have not been validated by the magistrate. Which, however, decided in any case, at the end of the validation hearing, to adopt a precautionary measure for both, separating them: placement in a juvenile detention institution for one and placement in community for the other.

The case was also addressed in a meeting between the prefect of Monza and Brianza, Patrizia Palmisani, the mayor of Seregno and representatives of the provincial command of the Carabinieri, the Police Headquarters, the Guardia di Finanza and the local Police. “The Seregno episode – Palmisani explained in a note at the end – highlights the need to pay the utmost attention to the control of the stations, the safety of users must also be protected from the danger of aggression”. Furthermore, “the young age of the children involved calls on all institutions not to underestimate the social dimension of the phenomenon of youth hardship”, to be addressed “in a logic not only of security, but also by acting on the level of education and coaching in the process of growth”.
