INE advisers, vulgar opponents.- Delgado

Mexico City.- The national leader of Morena, Mario Delgado, denied that the secretary of the interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, had given the order to “butcher” the INE and accused that some advisers from that institute have become “vulgar opponents.”

“What some electoral advisers argue to try to disqualify her, to confuse her (to the electoral reform proposed by President López Obrador) is false. They are in that strategy of lies, of false news from the right,” he said.

“It is just as false as the accusation made a few days ago by Lorenzo Córdova (president counselor), saying that our secretary of the interior had given instructions to cut up the INE, that he had asked the Senate to do so, that is absolutely false, because we do not want to weaken the INE, what we want is to strengthen it. What happens is that they have already become vulgar opponents,” he added.

When participating in the work report of the deputy Andrea Chávez Treviño, from Chihuahua, Delgado defended the electoral reform that seeks to reduce the capacities of the National Electoral Institute (INE) with the argument of saving budget, and assured that the Morena legislators are going to promote it in Congress in the session that starts in February.

Lorenzo Córdova denounced on Thursday that the head of the governorship asked the senators to “cut up” INE in their meeting with legislators.

“We are going to fight all the decisions that in these regulations call into question and practically dismantle, dismember. Today we know, from the testimonies of those who were present, that this was the word used by the head of Internal Policy,” said the President Counselor, at the Paso del Norte Cultural Center, in Ciudad Juárez.

In the legislative report by Chávez Treviño, who has shown his support for the presidential aspirations of the governor, also invited, Delgado called for unity within the party.

“Let nothing divide us, no personal interest can be above the project, we do not want a party divided by interests; we want a party or movement united by the Fourth Transformation,” he said.

The legislative report was also attended by the governors of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Ávila; from Baja California Sur, Víctor Manuel Castro, and from Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, and the speeches were interrupted several times with shouts of “president! López Hernández returned the compliment by saying that Del Pilar is “the best governor in the country.”

In the auditorium with capacity for almost 2,000 people, Chávez Treviño said that López Hernández is a reference for many.
