Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli has died
The fashion icon was 83 years old.
La Republlica announced, this Friday, that Italian designer Roberto Cavalli died at the age of 83, at his home in Florence. The designer was facing a prolonged illness.
Cavalli got his start in the world of fashion from a very young age, having created his own brand in 1970, which stood out for its creativity and the impact it had on the catwalks, through the extensive use of embroidery and fur.
The designer’s long dresses, which boasted transparencies and generous necklines, became fashionable internationally. The Italian designer, in 1998, created a youth fashion line, Just Cavalli and in 2012 launched Roberto Cavalli Home.
The designer leaves six children, the youngest just over a year old, as a result of his relationship over the last 15 years with his partner Sandra.
The designer was born and raised in Florence.
