The unfortunate accident took place around 18 at the Jaworzyna Krynicka Czarny Potok station. It is not known why the skiers entered the unlit and out of use route.
On Friday evening, there was a dramatic accident on the ski slope in Krynica-Zdrój. Three skiers, for unknown reasons, entered the unlit and out of use route. At that time, a snowcat was working on it, preparing and leveling the surface. Due to the steep slope, the machine was attached with steel cables.
The 17-year-old and the 18-year-old managed to avoid the obstacle, unfortunately A 14-year-old boy ran over her and suffered serious injuries. Medical assistance was immediately called to the scene. The teenager had to be resuscitated. Later, the boy was transported to the University Children’s Hospital in Krakow, where he is currently fighting for his life in the intensive care unit.
– After 6 p.m., the slope manager reported that there had been an accident at the Jaworzyna Krynicka Czarny Potok station. One of the routes that is operational was out of use at that moment. There was a snowcat working there with ropes attached to it. Three people entered the route. Two of them avoided obstacles, while a 14-year-old ran over the ropes and had an accident – explained the deputy inspector. Katarzyna Cisło from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Krakow.
As the officer added, The 14-year-old is a resident of Warsaw who probably came to Krynica-Zdrój for a winter holiday.
Now the circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the police. An investigation is underway to determine whether there was a direct risk of death or serious bodily harm.
