Defense lawyer Rael cross-examined the transcript of the WhatsApp conversation between Zaru and controversial businessman Kanaraja on August 17, 2017, arguing that their conversation mentioned their birthday on July 27 and “residing in Ambassador Garden” The big boss” is Najib.

Zaru agreed, stressing that the “big boss” in this scenario was Najib.

Rael went on to argue that in the entire WhatsApp conversation record, “big boss” was mentioned only once and there was only one “big boss”.

Zaru disagreed and said that he would also call others “big boss”.

The conversation record sent by Kanaraja to Zaru shows: “Good morning Datuk, I cut the birthday cake with the big boss at 12 o’clock in the morning last night.

Zaru responded, “Wow, that’s great.” “The two also mentioned cutting the birthday cake in the ambassador’s garden during the conversation.

I don’t agree that the “big boss” refers to Najib

In addition, during cross-examination, defense lawyer Haizan Omar argued during cross-examination regarding the WhatsApp conversation record between Zaru and Kanaraja on August 17, 2017 that the CM (chief minister) and the “big boss” were referring to different people. Lu disagreed.

Zaru agreed with Haizhan Omar’s assertion that ‘CM’ refers to Lim Guan Eng, but he disagreed that the ‘big boss’ referred to the then Prime Minister Najib Razak.

According to the transcript of the conversation, Zaru told Kanaraja that the two would meet the next day for two reasons.

Hajan Omar then asked Zaru if he had only informed Kanaraja that he would deliver the “chocolate” to the “big boss” through him, to which Zaru replied yes.

Zaru said he did not mention giving money to the chief minister to Kanaraja, nor did he mention giving money or “chocolates” to Najib.

The complaint has been in court for more than 1 year

Earlier, during cross-examination by Haizhan Omar on his WhatsApp chat records with Kanaraja, Zaru told the judge that he had answered questions raised by the defense lawyer and complained that he had been testifying in court for more than a year, but the question repeatedly.

“I just want this to be over and it doesn’t matter what the outcome of the case is, but I’m trying to tell the truth and I’m cooperating.”

“I am not feeling well. These questions have been answered by Gobind Singh (defense lawyer) during cross-examination earlier. Now you are bringing it up again. How many more times do I have to endure these things?”

Sessions Court Judge Azura then asked the defense to shorten the questions and focus on the controversial part.

Haizhan Omar said that now is the impeachment process and asked again about his WhatsApp conversation records.

Zaru appeared in court to testify for the first time on December 17, 2021.

On the other hand, Haizhan Omar pointed out that Zaru testified in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court that the RM2 million given to Lim Guan Eng was the company’s proceeds from the sale of land, but he did not agree in the Kanaraja case heard in the Shah Alam Sessions Court. The Anti-Corruption Commission’s confession stated that the amount was a loan from others, and the confession was contradictory.

Zaru later informed the judge that he was not feeling well and requested that the court be adjourned today. The case will be resumed tomorrow morning.
